The Esoteric Almanac

Josue. 18. Librarian. Radio DJ. Student.

I’ll submit my last post of the most beautiful type of girl there is. Redheaded freckle faces. But lets keep this entry objective;
Why are the folder-holders behind her empty? Is she at a library? If she was… maybe the lack of papers/magazines show that she’s in the back of the building. Maybe she likes being in the back because she is more secluded, and away from people. Maybe that’s why her smile is so authentic.

“Find what you love, and let it kill you.” That’s might seem like such a brutish and scary statement, but I sort of dig it. Instead of something killing you that you don’t particularly enjoy, you’re going out and picking your cause of death. Maybe death doesn’t mean the end of your conscious existence. Maybe Bukowski means death as in saying “let it be your fate”.

The animation of the text is almost like it taunts you, like it knows the meaning of its message. Like it doesn’t care that you’re miserable. Like it enjoys your sadness. Like it prefers you to suffer rather than get what you want. Like it has the power to dictate what exactly you want.

Tetris Pixel Heart
Created by Gift Season Store
Digital imagee available for $2 USD at Etsy.

Gamers who have a fling with romance would definitely enjoy this poster. It sort of carries a sad meaning in it though, which to me, makes me want it all-the-more. I sort of think the blocks that make up the heart could be more colorful since the Tetris blocks are a variety of color, but that’s just my opinion.

An uncommon reason I love typography is the meaning a design conveys can’t be misinterpretted into multiple definitions. It isn’t symbolic, it just states the idea or the message of the artist. Plus, it’s literature plus art, working together to present this message. How is that not beautiful?

Visual Text Project

i love the Archery and floss texts the best, but they’re all equally great. I don’t exactly understand Near, maybe I’m just over thinking it. I love how divorce shows a sexual innuendo and tune just has a tuning fork. :)

The Age of Rockets - “Adults” artwork by K. Thune

i designed this album artwork, click the image for high res. first, look at how pretty it is, and then follow the age of rockets on tumblr!

The second I looked at this album artwork, I fell in love. The colors, typography, and photography fit perfectly. I wonder if the music comes anywhere close to the beauty of this design. Only one way to find out.

You just don’t. by Moeys Photography on Flickr.

The block font along with the matching background completely takes me away. I have a huge like for both, and incorporating them together makes the final work magical. This gives me an idea for my upcoming EP.

Another simple typography idea that develops into a great message. No complex design techniques needed to illustrate a sad, yet beautiful work of art. Propssssssssss.

Social media has never been so disposable. Shitter - your twitter feed on toilet paper

Great! Just what I was looking for, a way where I can shit all over my online conversations. This seems like a cool idea in the head, and maybe in this photograph, but I’d feel slighty stupid if I actually bought this to put in my bathroom.
